Advanced Beginning Crochet- Week 2

This week we began to focus on our hat pattern. We reviewed a few stitches and then went on to the new stitch that we will do in the pattern. The new stitch is the extended single crochet. This stitch is just slightly longer then the standard single crochet.

From this point we started our project. I illustrated how to start crocheting in the round. Click here to review. This is not how the hat pattern suggested stating, but I felt this would be much easier. Next week I will illustrate the adjustable ring. This method is what is suggested in the patten. For a peek click here.

Once you understand starting in the round, I suggested doing 8 SC stitches around the ring. This will replace RND (round) 1 on the pattern. From this point you should be able to continue on with the pattern.

I know last week there were a lot of things going on. We learned a new stitch, started reading patterns, and began the project. Don't let this overwhelm you. We will review this again next week.

Happy Crocheting!!! ;)
